Originally released to Japanese arcades in 1999, the Taiko No Tatsujin series has become one of the most beloved rhythm games in the world. Aside from over a dozen titles released in the arcade format, it has also graced home consoles numerous times. However, no console can match or even properly approach the arcade experience, thanks to Taiko No Tatsujin’s unique controller.

This controller is shaped just like a traditional Japanese taiko drum. In-game, players need to hit the center of the drum with their drumsticks for when red notes cross the note threshold; hit the rim when a blue note crosses. This simplified manner of drumming makes it easy for kids or adults to enjoy and it is even more fun to watch a good player go at it. This can create viral moments in your venue, as new players will be enticed to not only give it a try, but to improve their own skill so that they can one day show off to their friends and others.

What makes the USA Edition special is that it has been fully localized into English and it has full licensing on the 800+ available songs. This includes songs from a variety of popular anime shows, which have been steadily growing in popularity within the United States in recent years, but also some American pop songs that many users will know already. Note that operators will need to sign-up for the Bandai Namco Passport/NBLine service for the game to operate; this will provide new songs to locations. There is a 20¢ per song fee that is required – this covers the extensive costs of the songs and licensing which will draw players to the game in the first place.
