Today’s news segment is short but sweet, as we’re going to cover two games that were announced quite a while ago, but that just now have begun shipping.
As the title of this article says, we’re talking about none other than Pac-Man Battle Royale Chompionship DX, which we’ve mentioned in the past in another article, and also Pac-Man Baller, a full-sized basketball-style arcade game with a theme centered around the popular puck-shaped character.
Now, we first talked about Pac-Man Battle Royale Chompionship back when the game was featured in IAAPA 2021. On that occasion, we mentioned the original 2011 release, which had garnered such a success as to get ported to various other platforms as a part of some Namco game collection. We also highlighted this sequel, which was adding a brand new cabinet design along with new features.
In that year’s IAAPA, however, the team only revealed renders and mockups of the final production cabinet itself, while also showcasing a projector version, which allows up to 8 players to engage in battle and play on a large projector screen, while controlling their pac-men via their smartphones by scanning a QR code. As of this writing, that version has not been released yet.
As mentioned above, Pac-Man Baller is a basketball arcade game in which players must take turns shooting hoops, as well as completing a variety of challenges, in order to score points and ultimately win the match. The game features added challenge from the hoop being able to move horizontally on a rail, and can also be linked up with other Pac-Man Baller machines to accommodate more players at the same time.
There are two cabinets now available for the Pac-Man Battle Royale Chompionship game: The Standard and the Deluxe (click on those hyperlinks for more details). The standard model offers a similar cabinet design to the Battle Royale original, upgrading the look with a new marquee and LED T-Molding. It also has two options – operators can get it alone where it supports up to 4-players at once; Or operators with an older Battle Roayle machine can purchase the new machine with an upgrade kit, which allows them to re-use the old cabinet and link it to the new machine, which allows up to 8 players to compete across two screens!
The Deluxe model saves ops the hassle by proffering 8-player access on the same cabinet, the cabinet almost looking like a cutting-edge air hockey table. With a giant 80” HD screen, this is already a proven hit at many FECs, such as Dave & Busters where they had the DX version available as a Summer 2022 exclusive. Both versions are available now for all operators to enjoy however, so give us a call to order yours today!
