Sega Amusements has officially started shipping Daytona Championship USA Motion Edition, bringing one of arcade racing’s most recognizable names back with a new hardware-focused upgrade. This version keeps the familiar Daytona Championship USA racing experience intact while adding a full motion cabinet designed to make each race feel more physical, social, and attention-grabbing on the arcade floor.
The Motion Edition was first shown ahead of IAAPA 2025 and has since appeared at major amusement trade events. Now that units are shipping, operators have a new way to bring Daytona back into their locations with a cabinet built around motion, lighting, multiplayer racing, and classic arcade driving appeal.

A New Motion Cabinet for a Familiar Daytona Experience
Daytona Championship USA Motion Edition is based around Sega’s updated Daytona Championship USA package, but the main change is the cabinet itself. The game now sits on a custom air-ride motion system that responds to turns, bumps, and high-speed action during races.
The cabinet also includes force-feedback steering, a classic 4-speed gear shifter, a 49-inch full HD display running at 60fps, and surround sound for a louder, more immersive presentation. Sega’s product details also highlight the Hornet High Class livery, chrome accents, chequered flag header, and animated lighting, giving the cabinet a strong visual presence.
For multiplayer setups, up to four cabinets can be linked together for head-to-head racing. This keeps Daytona’s social racing appeal intact, especially for arcades, FECs, and entertainment venues that want competitive games with strong group play.
Features Built for Players and Operators
The Motion Edition includes six racetracks, Quick Race and Championship modes, smart opponents, and Daytona’s well-known catch-up mechanic. The Live Camera System also lets players show their “Race Face” on screen during races, adding another social feature to the experience.
On the operator side, Sega lists configurable tournament options, motion safety warnings, an emergency stop button, and seat belts. These additions are important since the cabinet is designed around physical movement, not just standard seated racing.
The cabinet’s main selling point is clear: Daytona Championship USA Motion Edition gives operators a motion racing game tied to a proven arcade brand. According to early coverage, Sega has also positioned it as an aggressively priced motion driver, which could make it attractive for locations that want a premium racing experience without moving into the highest-cost simulator category.

Daytona Championship USA Motion Edition brings a classic arcade racing name back with a modern motion setup and a cabinet designed to stand out. With linked multiplayer, force-feedback steering, surround sound, animated lighting, and full motion effects, it gives players a more physical version of the Daytona experience while giving operators a recognizable title with strong location appeal.
