As the 4th installment of the ever popular Time Crisis series, Time Crisis 4 continues the traditions that the series has established while adding new elements to keep the game fresh.

The storyline for Time Crisis 4 continues following the experiences of the VSSE anti-terrorist organization, along with new heroes and villains as a new threat emerges. The game includes new features such as a completely redesigned light-gun controller, multi-screen battles, vehicular combat situations, bigger, more thrilling levels while retaining the duck & cover gameplay of previous games. It also sees the return of the multi-weapon system that was introduced in Time Crisis 3.
