The 18th installment of Andamiro’s smash hit series Pump It Up (PIU) is here with Pump It Up Phoenix 2.

This is the official sequel to the PIU Phoenix game that Andamiro had first released in 2023, bringing new songs to their K-Pop, World Music, and Original Music collections, UI and mode updates, new commands, and now integration with Andamiro’s Pump It Up R!SE PC game. The latter feature allows users to use R!SE step charts and other crossover features from that game, making for a rewarding experience for PIU fans/regulars.

The game is still approachable by newcomers however, offering a great dance game with a big selection of music that covers many modern tastes. Because it is developed in Korea, that includes a lot of K-Pop songs, which has become a popular genre in the United States. There are over 600 songs on this edition, with additional songs coming to online connected machines in the future.

Hits added to this version of the game include QWER’s T.B.H,” ILLIT’s “Do The Dance,” KiiiKiii’s “404 (New Era),” Ive’s “Bang Bang,” and much more, while maintaining the same song selection as other versions in the Phoenix series. All-in-all there is an eclectic mix of musical styles contributions from leading rhythm-style composers, familiar to thousands of pumpers, like Naoki Underground, Morimori Atsushi, FiverWater, Quree, Dasu, DJ Noriken, WyvernP, BlackY, nato, HyuN, onoken, Cashew, LeaF, and many more

Beyond the songs, there is a Basic Mode and Full Mode available, the former being for newcomers who are not familiar with how the game operates. Fans are rewarded with Full Mode, which gives them access to more features including Online Matching, Titles, avatars and a game shop. There is also a new Rival system that has been implemented to further promote replayability. All of the step charts for existing games have been reconfigured to make the game easier to play in general, while a new scoring system has also been implemented. Locations will also be able to offer AM.PASS cards, which allowed players to manage their data and carry it to other machines.
