Description

What prize might you win when you play the Capsule Station? You’ll have to try to find out!

Capsule Station by UNIS taps into the ever-popular prize vending market, while offering a couple of twists. First, all of the capsules are designed to hide what the prize is, making each vend a mystery (there are prize shelves on the top that allow you as the operator to showcase what potential prizes they can find inside – the greater the variety, the greater the chances that customers will want to play). This increases excitement and what they might get, following a similar pattern to the wildly popular “gashapon” machines which have been all the rage in Japan and in select parts of the world. With the Capsule Station though, you don’t have to deal with a custom token nor licensing through one company, who may or may not allow you to operate the machines.

On top of that, most vending machines simply have the customer pay, then it dispenses the item. The Capsule Station instead features a touch screen, where the customer first selects which of seven available stations they want to get a prize from (more on the eighth in a moment). The machine works with standard card swipe, but it can also accept other forms of payment, such as CC, Apple/Google/Tap-to-pay.

This touchscreen also offers and additional feature – the Mini-Game. This is where the eighth station comes into focus. Winners to the Mini-Game gets to win a prize from the eighth bin, which should have something more interesting or valuable inside than the rest. This incentivizes people to give it a try, and allows you as the operator to charge a different rate over the standard vending price. Only by winning the mini-game (a touchscreen based game where you flick the balls into cups, like ‘beer pong’) can you get the eighth bin prize; if you lose, it will dispense a prize from one of the other seven bins.
