Become the king of the animals and collect cards in Animal Kaiser Plus by Bandai Namco Amusements America.

Animal Kaiser is a long running series of card-vending arcade games, first released in Japan and is very popular overseas. That includes places like the UK where the game has a strong following. Now, Bandai Namco is “rebooting” the series with Animal Kaiser Plus – it is the first game that was released back in 2007, but it now features a modern screen, new cards, and sharper graphics.

The main target market for this game are children, however, those who are into collecting cards or who are familiar with the original games will find something appealing from it too. Due to the younger target audience, this comes in a much smaller-than-standard cabinet and it has simple controls.

When the game begins, a card will fall into the catcher below. The game will then ask for three cards to be scanned (animal, strong, then miracle). The Strong and Miracle cards attach a certain amount of power to the animal. Don’t worry if you don’t have three cards yet – the game will assign one to you if you push the yellow button. Once both players have their cards in, the battle begins. This uses a slot-machine type mechanic of spinning values. The player presses either the green or yellow button (it depends on which column is currently spinning) to stop the values. This portion is also limited to five seconds. Once both values are selected, it compares them and whichever animal has the stronger attack will deal out the most damage. If playing in single player mode, you will continue to battle it out with other creatures, once one has been KO’d.
