The arcade iteration of the toy is levelling up to handle more than just one person at a time with Bop It! Battle by Sega Amusements.

The original Bop It! was released in the 1990s and many variations have come along since which have entertained millions of kids around the world. For any unfamiliar with the toy, players are challenged to quickly and correctly follow the commands of the game, such as “bop it” (hit the ‘bop’ button), “pull it” (pull a small lever), “twist it” (twist the lever), “spin it” (spin a wheel) and more, depending on the model. Sega had previously adapted this into a full-sized arcade redemption game and now they’ve expanded on that with the Battle model.

At its core, the game is the same as before, where skilled players can win tickets by quickly following the game’s commands. The main difference here is that there are four player consoles instead of one! Each station features five controls for the player to interact with: a lever to pull, another lever to flick, a lever to twist, a spinner, and a button to bop. By following the audio/visual cues without breaking the pattern, players can succeed in winning more and more tickets, ultimately coming to the Lightning Round to try and win the Bonus. That’s easy said than done though as successfully reaching that point is no small feat! Battle then pits players against each other and means more tickets can be won in the action.
